Located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas, we are a non profit [501(c)(3)] animal advocacy group, organized in 2005 for the primary purpose of rescuing homeless Pekingese and other small dogs from animal shelters or other situations where their life or well being is in danger.
We obtain basic veterinary care for the rescued animals, including spay or neuter, shots, and any other care needed to restore them to health, and prepare them for adoption into qualified, loving homes. Once they are “vetted” they are taken into a volunteer foster home, where they live and are socialized until they are matched with their new “forever” home.
We are an all volunteer organization, and we depend on donations from animal loving supporters in order to provide these services for the homeless animals. We do receive an adoption donation for the animals, but it rarely pays for the veterinary care the animal received. Some treatment alone, such as heartworm treatment exceeds the adoption fee.
We also are always in need of good, loving foster homes, transportation volunteers, and volunteers to attend “meet and greet” adoption events.
